Welcome to the Sociological Analysis of Roe v. Wade

This website presents an in-depth sociological exploration of the overturning of Roe v. Wade through the lenses of three core social science theories: Structural Functionalism, Secularism, and Materialism. Each theory offers a unique framework for understanding the legal, cultural, and economic implications of the 2022 Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

Through these theoretical lenses, we examine how societal structures, religious influence, and economic systems have all played a role in shaping the legal and cultural landscape of reproductive rights in the United States. This project also features a condensed version of a full analytical essay that provides further evidence and scholarly insights into the issue.
